China Liver Health held a
communication meeting on Liver Health Promotion Demonstration Area Project in
Zunyi, Guizhou on March 27-28,2021. Representatives from CDCs of
Guizhou, Shanxi, Qinghai, Sichuan, Henan, Shanxi, Hubei attended the meeting and discussed
liver health promotion work.
After the meeting, China
Liver Health organized CPC party members at the meeting to visit Zunyi Conference Memorial
Museum and accept the baptism of
thought, so as to”learn CPC history, understand the thoughts, do practical
things, and open a new chapter”,and celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of CPC with
excellent achievements.

Health Promotion Demonstration Area Project Hepatitis B, stipulated as a class B
infectious disease in the Law of
China on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, is the main cause
of serious diseases such as cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer.There are 90 million people infected
with hepatitis B virus and 20-30 million chronic hepatitis B patients in China. This is the
main reason for poverty caused by illness. In order to promote the
prevention and control of hepatitis B in grass-roots areas, China Liver Health
started the liver health promotion demonstration project（2019-B21/B31、2020-B10）with approval from the Ministry of Civil Affairs and
financial support from the central government in 2020. The project aims to
unite CDCs in grass-roots counties and districts to establish liver health promotion
demonstration areas,carry out epidemiological survey of hepatitis B
among key populations, technical training for hepatitis B prevention and
control in grass-roots areas, as well as health education for residents and
free screening and detection, to suppress the harm of hepatitis B and build a
health barrier.
Besides the central government financial support funds,North China Pharmaceutical Jintan
Biotechnology co., Ltd. provided more than one million Yuan as public welfare support for the materials and training of hepatitis B
prevention and control. As of December 31,2020, the project had established 20
demonstration areas for liver health promotion together with CDCs in
Hunan,Shandong,Shanxi,Hainan,Jilin,Zhejiang,Sichuan,Guizhou,Jiangsu and Fujian.
Millions of core people of hepatitis B prevention and control had been covered
within the publicity and education activities, 27000 people had undergone
public welfare screening voluntarily. The awareness of liver health of the
people in the demonstration areas had been greatly improved. At the communication meeting, Shen Yingsheng, deputy
director of China Liver Health, secretary of the second joint Party branch of
the Social Organization Service Center supervised by Ministry of Civil Affairs,
gave thanks to the grassroots disease prevention institutions for their
cooperation in the establishment of the liver health promotion demonstration
areas. He introduced the work of prevention and control of hepatitis liver,
hepatitis C and fatty liver with the guidance of academician Zhuang Hui( famous
national liver disease expert) and prof. Wei Lai. Experts from National
Institute For Viral Disease Control And Prevention of China CDC introduced the
development course of hepatitis B vaccine of China, and introduced the
characteristics of various vaccines with detailed evidence-based medical data.Representative of North China
Pharmaceutical Jintan Biotechnology Company introduced the development history
of North China Pharmaceutical as the first pharmaceutical company in China, and
promised to provide manpower and material resources with great efforts to
support the establishment of demonstration areas and assume the social
responsibilities. The project work group reported the process and achievements
of demonstration area establishing in 2020. Representatives from local CDCs
made warm speeches and discussions, and said that, with authoritative platforms
and rich experts, Liver Health Promotion Demonstration Area project focused on
targeted poverty alleviation,advocated the integration of medical treatment and
prevention, provided a pathway and improved the confidence for grassroots
disease control institutions to carry out hepatitis B prevention and control in
combination with their daily work. They would actively integrate local
resources to promote project cooperation and the implementation of related
