In order to promote "universal participation, active screening, standardized treatment and cure of hepatitis", the China Liver Health provided 8,030 free test reagents and 117 sets of posters to hospitals nationwide during the "3.18 National Hepatitis Awareness Day", to support the conduct of charity clinics, popularization of science and screening for hepatitis C antibodies. Subsequently, the Centre will summarize the results of the activities of each hospital and submit a brief report to the national civil affairs, health and disease control authorities.

At the same time, the Centre is preparing a White Paper on "Health China 2030 - Action to Eliminate Hepatitis C Harm" and invites experts from hospitals nationwide to recommend their experiences and characteristic cases of hepatitis C elimination in recent years. Once the content is accepted, the white paper will be published with the signature of the hospital or individual. Details of the Notice can be found at the end of this article.

On National Hepatitis Awareness Day 2022, epidemic prevention and control continues and the elimination of hepatitis C continues.

117 hospitals nationwide signed up for free hepatitis C testing supported by the Hepatitis C Elimination Project. Preliminary data shows that the positive rate of hepatitis C antibodies among the screened population is 7.2%, much higher than the general population in China. This shows that the promotion of scientific education and voluntary screening in hospitals is an effective way to identify hepatitis C patients and promote standardized antiviral treatment.

Some hospital activities were postponed due to the epidemic

Results will be shown later

Here, we would like to pay tribute to the medical experts and nurses on the front line of treatment and fight against the epidemic!

Tip: Do I need to be tested for Hepatitis C?

Hepatitis C infection is 80% asymptomatic at the beginning and can easily be overlooked. It is important to get tested to rule out infection and to confirm the diagnosis in time for the following cases.

- Dental visits at informal dentists, acupuncture injections at clinics

- Tattooing, eyebrow tattooing, lip tattooing, ear piercing, pedicure, etc.

- Sharing syringes (or drug use) with others

- Having multiple sexual partners (or same-sex sexual activity)

- Had surgery or received blood transfusion before 1996

- Have family members or close relatives with hepatitis C infection

- More hepatitis C infected people in the surrounding population

Invitation Letter

Hepatitis C is a Class B infectious disease under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act, and is an important cause of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.

In order to implement the "Health China 2030" planning outline, the National Health Commission and other nine departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for the Elimination of Hepatitis C Public Health Hazards (2021-2030)", the China Liver Health organized authoritative experts to prepare the "Health China 2030 - Action to Eliminate Hepatitis C Hazards (tentative name)", to sort out the current situation of hepatitis C prevention and control work, prevention and control strategy planning, grassroots elimination experience and characteristic cases, and provide scientific guidance for eliminating the threat of hepatitis C in China by 2030.

Here, we invite experts from all over China, especially those from the "Hepatitis C elimination public welfare project", to collect information on the development of hepatitis C elimination work, achievements and experiences, as well as special cases. Once the content is accepted, the white paper will be published under the name of the hospital or individual.
