On March 31, the public lecture on the Extended Liver Health Promotion Project hosted by China Liver Health was held in Beijing. Nearly one hundred officials from CDCs in grassroots cities and counties across China gathered to summarize and exchange experiences on the results of focusing on hepatitis B prevention and control science and publicity, professional training, public welfare testing, and promoting hepatitis B vaccination in China since 2020.Yongcheng CDC and 19 other local CDCs were awarded the “Improving liver health” extension project demonstration unit plaque. The event was approved by the Integrated Party Committee of Social Organizations under the Ministry of Civil Affairs and organized under the guidance of the Social Organization Service Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Department of Transmission and Prevention of the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention. Zhao Can, Deputy Director of Yongcheng City Health Commission, Henan Province From 2019 to 2020, China Liver Health carried out the “Liver Health Promotion” demonstration project by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. In 2020, CLH started to mobilize social welfare to carry out the “Improving Liver Health” extension project in collaboration with local CDCs nationwide. The project has so far covered 72 cities and counties in 19 provinces. Cumulatively, 14,600 CDC public health personnel have been trained, 2.1 million teachers and students have been covered by campus improving activities, 2.75 million people have been covered by township promotion activities, 2.03 million hepatitis B investigation and public welfare testing have been conducted, and 1 million hepatitis B vaccinations have been replenished. In June 2021, the project was honored to be selected for the “Centennial of the Party” party-building achievements exhibition of social organizations managed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. In 2023, the project plans to initiate the establishment of 30 new demonstration areas based on the consolidation of existing achievements.
Project manager Wang Fengjiao of CLH introduced the work results On the day of the meeting,under the coordination of the First Party Building Workstation of the Integrated Party Committee of Social Organizations under the Ministry of Civil Affairs, China Charities Aid Foundation for Children and China Liver Health donated 500 schoolbags worth 50,000 RMB to Wutai County, Shanxi Province, for the support of disadvantaged students in local primary and secondary schools through the “Public Welfare Spark Program” extension project for Improving liver health. Director Cai pointed out that the first party-building workstation, through the leadership of party building, has innovated in the “Public Welfare Spark Program. He realized the cross-border collaboration between China Liver Health and China Charities Aid Foundation for Children in professional medical care and public charity. He said that we hope that more social forces will participate in this platform to create a model of social organization integration and development.
