On the afternoon of November 16, 2021, an expert workshop on the Integrated Hepatitis C Case Management Manual (hereinafter referred to as the Manual) and pilot program was held in Beijing, hosted by the HIV Prevention Center of the China CDC and supported by the World Health Organization and the China Liver Health. Secretary Liu Zhongfu of the CDC Centre for Prevention of AIDS, Dr Chen Zhongdan of the WHO Representative Office in China, Director Li Jian of the Hepatitis C Unit of the CDC Centre for Prevention of AIDS, Director Li Mingyang of the China Liver Health, Professor Rao Huiying of the People's Hospital of Peking University and other participating writers and relevant staff from the pilot provinces attended the on-site and online video conference. The experts at the meeting fully discussed and made feasible suggestions on the content of the chapters and the content of the pilot programme, such as choosing different management models according to the characteristics of different regions and institutions; further improving the process, linking continuity and forming a closed loop to reduce the risk of losing cases; setting baseline data and striving to ensure effective evaluation of the effects generated by the pilot after the pilot work is completed, etc. The compilation of the Comprehensive Management Manual of Hepatitis C Cases is one of the activities undertaken by the China Liver Health to undertake the World Health Organization's "Hepatitis C Patient Discovery - Treatment Services and Management Mode Exploration" project. At present, experts in the clinical and disease control fields of liver diseases have been organized to hold several online and offline meetings to discuss and assign the compilation tasks. In the next step, six pilot areas will be selected to carry out the model validation on several summarized models of hepatitis C prevention and treatment.
