Recently, the China Hepatitis D Disease Registration Project (CDiS) announced that by the end of September 2022, more than 40 medical institutions in 21 provinces and cities across the country had joined the project as the first batch of co construction centers for screening and management of people infected with hepatitis D virus. The China Hepatitis D Disease Registration Project (CDiS) was officially launched on August 24,2022. The project was initiated by the China Liver Health, called on by Academician Zhuang Hui of Peking University Medical Department, and led by Professor Wei Lai of Beijing Tsinghua Changgeng Hospital affiliated to Tsinghua University. It is the first national multi center "China Hepatitis D Virus (HDV) Infection Registration" project. The project aims to assess the disease progress and clinical outcome of patients with hepatitis D in China, which is expected to fill the data gap of current hepatitis D disease in China, and promote the development of hepatitis D research and effective prevention and control of hepatitis D disease in China. It is reported that among the first batch of more than 40 medical institutions, Jiuquan People's Hospital, Yichun People's Hospital, Taiyuan Third People's Hospital, Yunnan First People's Hospital and Foshan Fourth People's Hospital have passed the hospital ethics and started the screening of hepatitis D virus (HDV) infected persons, while other sub central hospitals are also under ethical review. The second batch of sub central hospitals have opened applications, and all medical institutions are welcome to join. Hepatitis D is an infectious disease caused by hepatitis D virus (HDV) and characterized by inflammation and necrosis of hepatocytes. The prevalence rate of anti HDV among HBsAg positive people in China is about 5%~6%. Compared with simple HBV infection, hepatitis D is more likely to develop into cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer, and its harm cannot be ignored. However, at present, hepatitis D is still faced with the problem of low screening rate and low diagnostic rate, and the treatment options available to patients are very limited. In order to implement the 2030 Strategy for a Healthy China and achieve the public health goal of the World Health Organization to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030, the China United Liver Health Promotion Center launched the establishment of the "Hepatitis D Disease Registration Project (CDiS)", which aims to invite domestic hospitals and clinical doctors in the field of liver disease to focus on evaluating the disease progress and clinical outcomes of patients with hepatitis D, and provide scientific basis for further evaluating the disease burden of hepatitis D infection. The project plans to invite 100 hospitals to participate in the project,1000patients with hepatitis D were enrolled, and the patients were followed up for at least 5 years. Welcome the hospital to actively participate in promoting the development of prevention and treatment of hepatitis D in China!
