This project started from November, 2015, with the support of Academician Zhuang Hui and Academician Zhong Nanshan. The medicine was supplied by China Primary Health Care Foundation. We provided 4000 liver disease patients with Peginterferon alfa-2a Solution for Injection – a proven specific drug used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C – for half a year (24 shots) free of charge, which cost over 100M Yuan in total.
The project held a press conference at the Beijing National Conference Center. Zhuang Hui (a professor from Peking University Health Science Center and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Wei Lai (a professor and vice president of Peking University People’s Hospital), Chen Xiaohong (the president of China Medical and Health Culture Association and former deputy director of the National Health and Family Planning Commission), Zhang Tao (a director under State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council), Wang Lixiang (a professor from China Armed Police General Hospital and next director of Scientific Popularization Branch under Chinese Medical Association), Yang Qingbin (the chairman of Life Oasis Public Welfare Center), and Li Mingyang (the director of State Project of Liver and Mental Health Aid for Children) have attended the unveiling ceremony of “100 million yuan drug donation”. |
