On the morning of June 18th, 2019, under the guidance of National Health Commission, the China CDC and China Liver Health hosted an expert seminar on compiling core information for viral hepatitis prevention and treatment at the oak hall on the 3rd floor of Sheraton Beijing Dongcheng Hotel.  The seminar was attended by director Jin Tongling from the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau under National Health Commission, professor Wei Lai (director of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Disease Center under Beijing Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital and chairman of China Liver Health), deputy director Pang Xinghuo from Beijing CDC, professor Li Jie from Peking University Health Science Center, research fellow Pang Lin and professor Wang Fuzhen from China CDC, director Li Mingyang from China Liver Health and other experts.  First, chairman Wei Lai introduced the specific work currently being done by China Liver Health. Through cooperation with local governments and grassroots communities, China Liver Health is providing assistance for poor children and training for grassroots doctors, and carrying out pubic welfare projects in hepatitis C screening and management. Next work will also include the promotion and training of WHO hepatitis C guideline. Regarding the promotion of core information on viral hepatitis prevention and treatment, China Liver Health hopes to receive guidance from National Health Commission in extracting the core information so that people can learn more about hepatitis C prevention and treatment.  The seminar was presided over director Jin Tongling from the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau under National Health Commission. Through discussion, experts decided that the core information extracted should be suitable for the public needs in terms of the text content, classified according to the disease type, easy to understand and with questions and answers. In terms of work schedule, it will take one week to sort out the problems and further integrate them into 20 to 30 questions and 1 to 2 comprehensive problem. After the text is finalized, illustrations will be added. In mid-to-late July, the core information will be propagandized and popularized nationwide through official websites of National Health Commission and other network channels. The seminar received strong support from Beijing Sinovac Biotech Co., Ltd. During the discussion, all experts had a full discussion in a free and active atmosphere. In particular, Prof. Pang Xinghuo, Prof. Pang Lin, Prof. Li Jie and Prof. Wang Fuzhen exchanged in-depth views on the core information of viral hepatitis and put forward new opinions. |
