National public health expert group for primary-level hepatitis B prevention and control education held the first working conference in Chengdu on Oct 24, 2020. Wei Lai (chairman of China Liver Health and vice president of Beijing Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital,), Li Mingyang (director of China Liver Health), Jing Yulin from Sichuan Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Diao Liandong (consultant from national public health expert group) and over 40 leaders and experts from primary-level CDC field across China attended the conference. The event was supported by North China Pharmaceutical Jintan Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
At the meeting, director Li Mingyang announced the notice on the appointment of consultants and members of public health expert group for primary-level hepatitis B prevention and control education. Chairman Wei Lai extended congratulations to the selected experts.

National public health expert group for primary-level hepatitis B prevention and control education is a national academic institution jointly established by China Liver Health and primary-level public health experts from various provinces and cities. Starting in 2020, the expert group aims to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on adhering to prevention-oriented policy as the most effective health strategy and moving the prevention gate forward, address the challenge of viral hepatitis B, and promote primary-level hepatitis B prevention and control education so as to safeguard people's well-being and facilitate the realization of the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way.

Section chief Zheng Min exchanged experience. Professor Diao Liandong, chief physician from Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, gave an academic report on the issues worthy of attention in primary-level prevention and control of hepatitis B. Zheng Min, chief of the immunization planning section of Yongzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced the experience of establishing a demonstration area for liver health promotion. With the COVID-19 epidemic gradually brought under control in April 2020, China Liver Health launched the health education activity for primary-level hepatitis B prevention and control, gave online lessons to more than 20,000 primary-level CDC personnel in Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places for 13 times, and established 15 demonstration areas for liver health promotion with primary-level CDCs in Zhejiang, Sichuan, Shanxi, Hainan, Hunan, Shandong and other provinces. As approved at the national public health expert group conference, the committee members will strive to coordinate local public health and CDC departments, jointly carry out epidemiological survey of hepatitis B among key populations, help organize technical training and health education for hepatitis B prevention and control among residents and at schools, provide free medical consultation by liver disease experts, free screening and test, and actively participate in national academic exchanges and inspects in public health so as to improve liver health of primary-level community residents. |
